Public Computers with Internet Access

The Library has 11 Internet-enabled workstations for public use! These computers also have a variety of software programs installed, such as Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel. Three of these computers are in the Children's Department and are loaded with educational games for kids. You may use these Internet computers for free for one hour per day. For minors to obtain Internet access, a parent must come into the Library and sign the Internet Registration Agreement. Printouts cost $0.10 cents per sheet.

Online Database Computers

Two computers are available exclusively for searching the following databases to which the Library subscribes: Gale Biography Resource Center; Gale Student Resource Center; Gale General Reference Gold; Gale's Opposing Viewpoints; Learn-a-Test; America's Newspapers and Obituaries; Reference USA (detailed index to business and residential listings) and the Thomas Register. Need tax forms? The California Franchise Tax Board and the Internal Revenue Service web sites can also be accessed through these computers. Printing is $0.10 per page.

Photocopiers

The Upland Public Library has three self-service black-and-white photocopiers and one color copier for public use. Please bring dollar bills or coins in US currency. Black-and-white copies are $0.15 per page. We offer reduced rates for black-and-white copies with the purchase of a vendor copy-print card. With the vendor card, black-and-white copies are $0.10 per page, versus $0.15 per page using money. Our color copier is coin-operated only. Color copies are $0.75 per page. Typewriter

The Upland Public Library has one electric typewriter, with correction tape, for public use. It is coin operated and and costs $0.25 per 15 minutes. Please bring your own supplies. Typing paper is available at the Reference Desk and costs $0.10 per sheet.

Self Checkout

The Self Check-Out Station for books is located next to the public computers in the Children's Department on the Mezzanine level. You may check out your own books without waiting in line at the Circulation Desk. A receipt will be printed for all the items you check out. Library cards must be in good standing; you can update your account at the Circulation Desk.
