Upland Police Department

Canine

Test image A History of Service

We have had 4 brave dogs in the history of the Upland Police Department. Our last two canine partners were Bob and Roy. Bob served our community proudly for 56 “dog years” and Roy served for 28 “dog years”.

Both  assisted in felony arrests of violent offenders and narcotic detection. Bob won California Top Dog Competition several times and he and his handler, Officer Larry Latimer were considered one of the best teams in the nation winning a Gold Medal, three Silver Medals, Two 1st Place Medals, and Three Top Dog Awards over the years. Roy was retired early due to a medical condition which prohibited him from police work but is happy living with his partner Officer Dodt and his family.
