Trespass Letter

Annual Trespass Letter Requirement for Enforcement

To ensure the Upland Police Department can effectively enforce trespassing laws on private property, California law requires that written trespass authorizations be renewed annually and must be notarized. These letters grant officers the legal authority to take enforcement action, including arrest, on behalf of the property owner or business.

We kindly ask all property and business owners to complete and return the attached Trespass Letter template as soon as possible. To ensure the document is valid and processed correctly, please make sure to:

  • Print on business or official letterhead (if applicable)

  • Include the date and property address

  • Provide an authorized signature

  • Have the document notarized

Once completed, please email the signed and notarized letter to: sbehrse@uplandpd.org

This will allow us to update our records and continue providing timely and effective enforcement services.

If you have any questions or need assistance completing the form, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Thank you for your continued partnership in helping to keep our community safe.
